Max Woodvine, a Parish Councillor, has recently been delivering leaflets but he has also been delivering for the people and places of Saddleworth West & Lees ward - including in Grotton - as he continues to work hard, fighting for our villages and standing up to Oldham Labour.
He has promoted exercise by liaising with an Environmental Manager, Traffic Engineer and Senior Technician to secure funding for footpath renovation so that residents can walk freely and in doing so has preserved both the physical and mental health of Grotton.
In a similar way he voted AGAINST developments to build hundreds of houses on Knowls Lane and Stonebreaks, popular green spaces amongst Grotton residents.
Max has also saved relics and integral remnants of the village’s history by arranging for the kilns, on the site of the former brickworks, to be repaired; cementing their future and making them safe, for the children who play around them.
Also in tackling litter and anti-social behaviour he has worked closely with Greater Manchester Police to stop youths congregating in Grotton and has picked very many bags of litter - something the youths themselves should be doing!
Grotton is getting cleaner one plastic bottle at a time.
Parking and pot-hole problems across the village have been addressed by Max, who has requested traffic calming and road safety measures on Coverhill Road and Under Lane after two recent road traffic accidents. He also requested ‘NO PARKING’ lines on Under Lane, which Highways have agreed to fund, and Thornley Lane.
