Conservative Parish councillors have praised the decision to grant Grade II Listed status to Second World War pillboxes in Saddleworth following the announcement by government agency Historic England. These pillboxes, which have been added to England’s National Heritage List, are at Bleak Hey Nook above Delph and off the A635 Holmfirth Road in Greenfield and were built as anti-invasion defences.
