Blocked gullies galore

Conservative councillors in Saddleworth have been contacted by residents who have raised concerns regarding blocked gullies especially around Boarshurst, Bunkers & Tunstead in Greenfield.

These blocked gullies, which are solid with silt, are causing water to run onto land where there are stable buildings and into private gardens. There was some confusion as it was originally feared to be a water leak, however, United Utilities have confirmed it is surface, not mains, water.

Blocked gullies increase the risk of flooding to property and the clearance of drainage systems is a basic service which Labour-run OMBC aren’t providing.

In this instance, it is, but it is not just Greenfield that is effected by this problem, it is every village in Saddleworth.
